1. Start by Creating a Track
To Create a Track you can start by heading to the 'Create' icon on the left navigation bar of your platform. Once here you will see various options of creation, simply click 'Create a Track' to get started.
Alternatively you can proceed to your Catalog > Tracks > Click 'Create Track' highlighted in the red call to action button seen in the screen below:
2. Add Audio File
To start upload a new audio file track for the first time by browsing your device, or drag and drop a file into the track audio container.
Audio File Formatting
At this time, we support the following audio formats:
File types: WAV (or FLAC)
Sample Rates: 44.1Hz or 48kHz
Bit Depth: 16 or 24
3 second minimum duration
We also support HD files, as well as Dolby Atmos.
Uploading Audio File
Once you have selected the correct audio file and click 'Next' it will now begin to start uploading to the platform. Depending on how big the audio file size is and your internet connectivity speed the time can vary but his process usually takes no more than a few minutes to complete.
Note: One or more audio files can be selected to upload at one time.
3. Add Track Details
Once your audio file has successfully uploaded to the platform you will now need to add all the track level metadata. The following metadata is captured on a track level:
Title - Track Title of your audio upload.
Artists - Add Main Primary and Featuring Artists.
Genres - Primary and Secondary Genres.
Preview / Clip Time - The exact time you want your track to play in previews.
ISRC - Provide an existing ISRC or select 'No' to have a new one generated.
Catalog ID - Add your own catalog reference ID for personal use.
Track Origin:
Original Work - Your composition is original: you are not reusing someone else's composition (melody, lyrics, and structure). Note that while a remix often reuses the original composition, it is considered an original work if it substantially alters the original recording.
Public Domain & Traditional - Any music whose copyright has expired or is otherwise free of copyright. This also includes traditional songs and melodies, as well as any non-original religious music.
Cover Song - Your song is a new performance of a song previously recorded by someone else, and you are not substantially changing the original composition (melody, lyrics, and structure), or reusing part or whole of the original recording. Note that recordings with lyrics translated into another language, or with lyrics substantially modified (including adding lyrics to an instrumental track) are therefore not covers; they are remixes and you should pick Original Work (unless Public Domain & Traditional applies).
Copyright - Add your publishing copyright information date and name.
Track Properties - Unless any of track properties applies to you, select 'None of the above apply' otherwise select as many of the properties that apply to your track.
Language of Lyrics - If you track has vocals, select which language the vocals are in. If your track has no vocals please select 'Instrumental'.
Explicit Content Warning - Select if your track has explicit content in it or not.
Lyrics - You will now have the ability to either type in your lyrics to your track or simply copy and paste your lyrics you have into the provided text block.
Once all of the required fields above have been filled in you can continue by clicking 'Next' in order to continue to the next screen.
4. Add Publishing Information:
Step 3 allows you to add any and all publishing information related to your track, you will see there are various option to select when adding your publishing information.
Add a Writer & Publisher - You will be able to select from multiple options available to create and add your publishing information to your audio track. Simply start by clicking the 'Add Writers & Publishers' call to action button on the screen.
You will need to provide the following details:
Publishing Type
Select Role
Writer Name (MUST be a person's name and not an artist name)
Share %
Once all your writers and publishers have been added you can now finish your track upload by clicking 'continue' on the next screen. Once your track has been successfully uploaded, you will be able to find your track under Catalog > Tracks.
From your catalog you will be able to manage your audio file, view the metadata, and assign this track to a release for distribution.
