Distribute a Release

1. Start Distributing a Release

To Distribute a Release you can start by heading to the 'Create' icon on the left navigation bar of your platform. Once here you will see various options of creation, simply click 'Distribute a Release' to get started.

Alternatively you can proceed to your Catalog > Releases

2. Select Release to Distribute

Select the Release you want to Distribute, and Click 'Distribute Release' highlighted in the red call to action button seen in the screen below:

3. Select DSP Channels to Distribute

You will now be able to select all the DSP channels you want to distribute your release to. You can manually select the different DSPs on the list or simply select all the DSPs to distribute to by clicking the 'Distribute All' button highlighted in red, seen on the screen below:

4. Add Album and Track Retail Price Tiers

For Amazon and iTunes you can pre-select what retail price you want your release to be whenever someone purchases your release. If you do not select a pre-defined option we will by default pass through the average pricing tier.

Once you have selected all the DSP channel you want to distribute your release to, and have added in your track/album retail price amounts, you can now proceed to the next step by clicking the 'Distribute' button at the bottom of the screen.

5. Select Monetization Platforms

You will now be able to select the channels where you wish to monetise based off of UGC content. We currently provide three monetisation policy channels:

  • TikTok

  • Facebook Rights Manager

  • YouTube Content ID

Select the channel you wish to set monetisation policies for. Each channel will have different options for monetisation, please select which ones are appropriate to you.

You can follow the same steps until you have set all the monetisation policies for each of the channels available. Make sure if you are wanting to monetise your release on these platforms make sure that you select the monetisation options and not he monitoring and tracking options.

Once you have added in your monetisation policies you can proceed by clicking 'Next' at the bottom of the screen.

6. Add Distribution Details

Release Start Date:

Select the date and time you want you release to be live on the various DSPs you selected in the previous steps. You have the following options:

  1. As Soon as possible

  2. On a specific date

On a Specific Date:

You will be able to select a future date for your release by either manually typing in the date using the following format: yyyy/mm/dd.

We deliver your release to music services within a few hours. Most services take about a day to make it live. However, Apple Music requires a 5-6 day review process.

Alternatively you can click the calendar icon next to the date input which will launch a calendar view for your to select the future date.

Read 'DSP Guidelines for Delivery Lead Time' for more information on DSP delivery times to plan your release strategy accordingly.

Once you have completed all the required information on the distribution details page including the time and what territories you want your release to be distributed in, you can proceed by clicking the 'Next' button at the bottom of the screen to continue to the next section.

7. Distribution Agreement

You will need to opt-in to the distribution agreement as you are about to publish this release to the selected services.

Please check the box to the left to confirm that you own or have legally all the copyrights to the sound recordings, compositions and artwork in this release and furthermore abide and agree to all terms as said forth in our distribution agreement.

Once check the box to the left you will be able to click 'Distribute' to successfully push your release to the various DSP channels.

8. Inspection & Delivery Process

Once your release has been successfully sent to the various DSP channels you will notice that the status of your release will change from 'Never Distributed' to 'Processing' - this means your release is now in the Inspection queue ready to be packages and pushed to the different DSP channels.

You will be able to manage the distribution status of your release in your release details overview page. Alternatively you can proceed to Catalog > Releases > Distribution.

Here you will be able to filter between the different states to understand where your release is in the process of distribution. The following release states are available:

  • Distributed

  • Never Distributed

  • In Inspection

  • Issues

  • Take Downs

You will receive an email when your release has been sent to the DSP stores who have accepted and approved your release. If there was an issue with you release you will also be notified by email and instructions on how to fix the issues and re-distribute your release for another review.
